“Kate is well-read, professional, and approachable. With her previous experiences of living in Taiwan, she is specialized in teaching English to Mandarin-speaking clients. I struggle with understanding speaking rhythm, syllables, and pronunciation, and she always ensures that I am well-equipped with the materials. Kate can also quickly identify your needs and weaknesses, as well as adjusting the curriculum accordingly. I addressed in one session to her about wanting to learn idioms, she then included it in the next session. I especially love how she integrates role play into our lesson and has me practice realistic scenarios. For instance, we practice telephoning skills by calling the healthcare provider about an unexplained bill. Right after the practice, she always makes sure the immediate feedback is given so that I know where I should improve from.
