Ann & Kate

Hi! I’m Ann, currently living in Seattle with my husband.
I’m lucky to have a group of good friends in Seattle.
Whenever I have trouble understanding any words, my friends never hesitate to explain them to me
I have been communicating with my friends and family in Mandarin prior to coming to the US; therefore my conversational skills in English was not improving as fast as I’d like it to be
After living in the States for a year, I decided to go out of my comfort zone and learn English from a professional local English teacher.

I’m glad I did it as I enjoy every learning session with Kate since day one. Kate comes up with fun and easy-to-follow lessons with a variety of history and current events. She helped me improve by pointing out issues in my pronunciation and walking me through how to correctly vocalize words I struggle with. I also like to exchange my thoughts on the weekly articles with Kate.
Besides learning English, I learnt a lot about American culture during the class as well.
Kate is a very kind and patient teacher, I never feel uncomfortable making mistakes in front of her.
She encourages me when I lack of confidence.
I understand I still have a long way to go on this learning journey. However, I already recognize how much I improved over the past six months. Overcoming my weakness is the best investment I made this year.
